Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Your instructor

All Learners Club Driving School instructors are self-employed and operate under a franchise with Learners Club Driving School. Your driving tuition is an agreement between you and your instructor, and no contractual liability arises between you and Learners Club Driving School in respect of the tuition itself. Where payments are made directly to an instructor, Learners Club Driving School does not accept responsibility for any act, default or failure on the part of that instructor to carry out their obligations.

Bookings & payment

Courses are booked and paid for online by debit or credit card. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details are handled by Stripe and are never received or stored by Learners Club Driving School.

For intensive courses, the amount collected online secures your booking. We will contact you afterwards to confirm your dates and match you with an instructor — dates shown at the time of booking are your preference, not a confirmed schedule, and are subject to instructor availability. Beginner offers and block bookings are paid in full at the time of booking. The full course price is shown alongside the amount payable online on every course.

Theory and practical tests

Theory and practical driving test fees are not included in any of our courses, and we do not book or pay for tests on your behalf. You book both tests yourself, directly with the DVSA, and pay the DVSA's fee directly. Test availability and waiting times are set by the DVSA and are outside our control.

We recommend booking your theory test around two weeks before your practical training begins. A practical test should only be booked with your instructor's agreement — the offer of a course does not apply where a test is booked without the instructor's prior knowledge. We reserve the right to withdraw the use of our cars for a test if the instructor considers that you are not at test standard, and the instructor cannot be held responsible for tests postponed or cancelled by the DVSA.

Cancelling or rearranging a lesson

Lesson cancellations should be made directly with your instructor at least 48 hours before the appointment; otherwise the lesson is chargeable. We allow 15 minutes' waiting time for an instructor delayed by traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.

In the event of a mechanical breakdown of the tuition vehicle, or for any other reason outside their control, the instructor reserves the right to rearrange a lesson to a time convenient to both you and the instructor.

Refunds

Beginner offers and block booking payments are non-refundable unless exceptional circumstances apply. Where a refund is agreed in exceptional circumstances, it is at the instructor's discretion and is arranged with the instructor rather than with the booking office. Misuse of a beginner offer may result in the package being revoked. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Using your hours

Lessons on a block booking or promotional offer are to be taken continuously, with no break of more than three weeks between lessons; otherwise the remaining lessons may be forfeited. Abuse of these offers may result in the remaining lessons being revoked without the possibility of a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Where a split promotional offer is purchased, it is at the instructor's discretion when the lessons may be redeemed — typically an initial set of hours when you start, and the remainder as you approach test standard.

Conduct

Lessons must begin at the agreed date and time, and learners are expected to arrive on time, sober, alert and capable of learning. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a lesson where the driver is under the influence of alcohol or any other substance that would contravene road safety, or where behaviour endangers the instructor, other road users or the vehicle.

You must hold a valid provisional driving licence and bring it to every lesson.

If you're not happy

We want you to be delighted with your driving lessons. If you are not satisfied, please raise it with our booking office by phone on 0161 881 1701 or by email at info@learnersclub.co.uk. The office is open 9am – 9pm, seven days a week.

Liability

While every care is taken to provide safe, professional instruction, Learners Club Driving School cannot be held responsible for test failures, delays in DVSA or DVLA processing, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
